Greetings in Jesus and Mary.... Today is day 4 of the Fatima Novena for May 13th. May we pray for all the intentions held in the Immaculate Heart of Mary which I am sure She is praying for a Holy Pope...may God's Will be done even if he "allows" more of a chastisement upon the Church with another "Pope" like the last one. God's Will be done...He is all knowing and all wise....and all loving! Blessed be the Name of God! Today I will write a little about my favorite saint who is second to St. Therese. Little sweet St. Jacinta. She was such a sweet little soul and was found to be incorrupt as well; which should give us insight as to how the Good God viewed her love and sacrifices! May we read about her and follow her examples! Below are exerpts from the book, "Fatima or World Suicide" written in 1950 by Rev. Wm. C. McGrath, P.A. "A specialist from Lisbon who happened to be visiting Fatima suggested that Jacinta be brought to the Capital city for an operation. She told them that it was useless; that she was not going to get better because the Blessed Lady had told her that she was going to die soon. Nevertheless, she was taken to Lisbon but before entering the hospital was placed into the Orphanage of Our Lady of Miracles. the Director of this orphanage was a Franciscan nun, Sister Mary of the Purification, but because of the persecution then raging in Portugal, she was not permitted to wear religious garb. To Lucy she was madrinha, or little godmother. It was at this orphanage, before her last stay in the Lisbon Hospital that little Jacinta was favored with some of the most extraordinary apparitions of the Blessed Virgin and her statements to Sister Mary clarify even further the messages of Fatima concerning war and her horror of sin. One day as she entered Jacinta's room, the child earnestly pleaded with her to come back later. "Please do, little godmother, for right now I am expecting the Blessed Virgin." On several occasions the good Sister questioned her little patient concerning the nature of these later revelations. "What did the Blessed Mother tell you about the war?" she asked one day: "Why is such a terrible scourge permitted by God?" Jacintan grew very thoughtful and serious. "Our Blessed Lady said that war is nothing but a punishment from God for the sins of men. And she said, little mother, that now she can no longer hold back the Hand of Her Son in Heaven from striking the world in terrible retribution." The Blessed Mother, who knew that her appeal would not be answered by her own children in Europe, now revealed that Europe was doomed. "And sin? Did Our Lady say anything more about it?" "Yes. She said that more souls were going to Hell because of sins of impurity than any other." "But child," added the Sister, "do you know what it means to be pure?" "Yes. To be pure in body means to be faithful to the virtue of chastity. To be pure in spirit means to refrain from all sin, not to look at what is of no concern, not to lie or steal, always to be truthful regardless of the cost." ......Added to her suffering was the sight of the immodest attire of visitors and attendants, so terrible in view of the recent words of Our Blessed Lady, and the sophisticated views of some of the doctors who "had never seen a soul" and aired their godless attitude in hearing of the dying visionary of Fatima. "Fools," she would say, "fools who know so little of what awaits them in eternity. If they could only understand, how much they would do to change their lives while there is still time." Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us and this conclave! St. Jacinta, pray for us!
