Modernism beliefs, the synthesis of all heresies as defined by the great Pope Saint Pius X, are completely opposite to the message of Fatima. To quote St. Thomas Aquinas, “The hottest places in Hell are reserved for those in time of moral crisis maintain their neutrality.” With Fatima, there is a restatement of the traditional teachings of the Catholic Church with an urgent appeal for reparation of sins committed against the Heart of Our Lady. In the past 50 years, modernists have changed the Mass, the Sacraments, the language, the Rosary, titles held by Our Lady, the Calendar of Saints, interpretations of Scripture and Dogma, the Code of Canon Law, The Catechism, The Divine Liturgy of the Hours, the Blessing of Holy Water and more. This revolution is designed to destroy faith in the Church instituted by Jesus Christ. Have they been successful? How many Catholics no longer have the faith? One thing they did not change is the name. They are still called Roman Catholics. On July 13, 1917 Our Lady told the children that to save souls from going to hell “God wants to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart.” It is very rare to find a Novus Ordo preacher recommending the First Five Saturday's for the reparation of sins against Our Lady. How often do they encourage the daily Rosary? Do they promote the Brown Scapular Our Lady showed Lucy on the day of the 'Miracle of the Sun'? Do they have a statue of the Blessed Mother in their churches? Or do their churches often resemble a Masonic temples confirming a 1930 prophecy? Indeed, Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli, the future Pius XII, foresaw: “In our churches Christians will search in vain for the red lamp where God awaits them.” Sister Lucy further warned us and shocked the Catholic world with some very distressing remarks regarding the hypocrisy in the Church in her conversation with Father Fuentes published in 1957. “Father, we should not wait for an appeal to the world to come from Rome on the part of the Holy Father, to do penance. Nor should we wait for the call to penance to come from Bishops in our Dioceses, nor from the religious congregations. No! . . . Now it is necessary for each one of us to begin to reform himself spiritually. Each person must not only save his own soul, but also all the souls that God has placed on our path...” The late Cardinal Silvio Oddi was one of the last conservatives in the Roman Curia. He worked closely with Archbishop Roncalli (the future John XXIII) when the latter was Nuncio in Paris. Msgr. Oddi was made a Cardinal by Paul VI in 1969, Between 1979 and 1985 he served as Prefect for the Congregation of the Clergy. After his retirement he wrote a book of memoires. Among many interesting things, he affirms that Vatican II was the fulfillment of the Third Secret of Fatima: a Revolution in the Church. The prophecy of Fatima was completely defied! It is a lack of sense, I would say, because according to the interpretation that seems to me most worthy of consideration, the Third Secret - which John XXIII and his successors thought inopportune to reveal - is not about a supposed conversion of Russia, still far from becoming a reality, but regards the 'revolution' in the Catholic Church. From a Council convened to throw light on the beauty and profundity of the Christian mystery by presenting the Church as the spouse of Christ, according to the beautiful words of the same Pope John XXIII, so many innovations were born that they appear to constitute a true internal revolution. (Silvio Oddi, Il Tenero Mastino di Dio, Rome: Progetto Museali Editore, 1995, p. 217-218). Fatima, once loved by millions of Catholics around the world, is not known by today’s Novus Ordo Catholics and is defied, despised and hated by the Hierarchy. Oh, what a job the progressivists did for the Devil! Even though Pope Francis canonized the two children May 2017 - he did nothing to promote the message of Fatima at that ceremony or ever. Lucy was the person chosen by God to foretell the greatest public miracle in History three months in advance. As she had promised, the miracle occurred. Rain drenched 70,000 believers and non-believers alike who, then, observed “the miracle of the sun” at Cova de Iria; afterward they all travelled home bone dry on October 13, 1917. These miracles were performed not to entertain or scare those who came, but for a reason. The message of Fatima was carried by Lucy, and, if people deny her, they are saying that God selected a liar to foretell the great miracles of October 13, 1917, a dreamer and a story teller as His messenger to spread the devotion of the Blessed Mother and warn us about losing our souls. Our Lady came to Fatima first to remind us that sinners go to Hell and, then, on June 13, 1917, she told Lucy: “I will take Jacinta and Francisco shortly; but you will stay here for some time to come. Jesus wants to use you to make Me known and loved. He wishes to establish the devotion to My Immaculate Heart throughout the world.” She concluded with a very firm and definite statement: “I promise salvation to whoever embraces it; these souls will be dear to God, like flowers put by Me to adorn His throne”.

The feast day of February 11th which celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes is this Sunday, we have the Traditional Feast day of St. Bernadette which is February 18th coming up as well. Therefore, we can put the two together and present the beautiful story of Lourdes in this article. Lourdes is justly regarded as the most important place of Catholic pilgrimage in the world after the Holy Land and Rome. It comprises four magnificent basilicas and the grotto marking the exact spot where Our Lady appeared to Bernadette.
In 1858, in the grotto of Massabielle, near Lourdes in southern France, Our Lady appeared 18 times to Bernadette Soubirous, a young peasant girl, starting on Feb. 11 through July 16th. She began by praying the Rosary with Bernadette (only Bernadette prayed the Hail Marys). She asked that penance be done and told Bernadette that She did not promise her happiness in this life – only in the next. She told her to drink from a fountain in the grotto, where we now have a spring of miraculous water for all the Church to benefit. She revealed Herself as the Immaculate Conception on March 25th and asked that a chapel be built on the site of the vision. The dogma of the Immaculate Conception had just been given to the Church by Pope Pius IX just four years prior in 1854. We may conclude that this apparition helped the faithful to accept the True Teachings of Mother Church. In 1866 the first Mass was offered at the grotto, and on the Feast of the Assumption in 1871 the newly built Church of the Immaculate Conception was blessed. The following year was the first national pilgrimage, with flags and banners and a torchlight procession. In 1873 the Assumption Fathers organized a much larger pilgrimage and a year later the first visitors came from abroad, particularly from Belgium and the USA. The statue of Our Lady of Lourdes was crowned in 1876 and the second of four great basilicas, the Church of the Rosary, was opened in 1889. On March 25, 1958, the centenary of the apparitions, the Basilica of St. Pius X was consecrated. There have been over five thousand cures which have taken place. Sixty-five of these cures have been officially designated 'miraculous' by the Church. St. Bernadette’s life was one of penance and prayer. She endured sufferings in body, mind and soul. Our Lady warned her that this would be, but that she would be rewarded in Heaven. Bernadette’s life is an example for us. We must understand that to live in imitation of Jesus and Mary, we too must take up our cross. It is difficult in a world of comfort and pleasures to seek penance and prayer. We ask ourselves – for what? We may reply, that is for saints such as St. Bernadette. This is not true. We are all called to be great saints. Do we not want to comfort the Hearts of Jesus and Mary with our diligent attentiveness to the needs of the world? Do we not want peace and holiness to reign in the hearts of all men? Then, we are all called to do our part. This message is not just for Bernadette. If we truly love Jesus and Mary, we will kneel before them and offer our prayers of love and self-sacrifice. Of course, living in this world, we all have our sufferings but we must learn to accept them as little crosses to gain great merit. We must offer them to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary as Bernadette did in order to make reparation for the many sins that are being committed today. Do we have members in our family that have fallen away from the Faith? Do we have members in our family that are persisting in sin? The answer is prayer and there are many promises to those who pray the Rosary. Below are the promises given to St. Dominic for those who pray the Rosary.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. St. Bernadette, pray for us. |
