Novena to the Immaculate Conception

Hello Everyone:
We are in the Novena to the Immaculate Conception.

A little about the Immaculate Conception whose Feast Day is Dec. 8th. I love to recount the fact that Pope Pius IX on Dec. 8th 1854 proclaimed the Immaculate Conception a dogma of faith. Before this time it was disputed but the Church was strong enough to conquer its attackers with the teaching and writings of the Church. It must have been at this time in history (Freemasonry taking hold of high places in the Church) that this dogma of faith be proclaimed - it was GREATLY needed! And why not - Satan hates the Woman appointed to crush his head.

Even after this dogma was given to the Church, God had to intervene and proclaim this Truth with the appearance of Our Queen and Mother - just four years later. It is so beautiful to see that four years later (after much intellectual pride from the theologians - I am sure!) Our Lady comes Herself to tell little Bernadette of Lourdes - "I Am The Immaculate Conception!" WOW! But of course - who is going to believe a peasant girl so therefore - God had to allow a miraculous spring of water for all those doubting Thomas' that would exist both then and now.  --- I love this piece of history!

From the first instant of Her conception in the womb of Her mother St. Anne, She was preserved free from original sin in order to be that spotless tabernacle for Jesus. That doesn't seem too hard to comprehend - but for the unbelieving, scientific scholars it is impossible. Never did Our Lady ever yield to the smallest sin - She was always pure. She always did the will of God. May we live to imitate Her and beg Her for the graces to be pleasing to the Father.
