Hello Everyone:

Today is Pentecost! An amazing day in the Church. The day the Holy Spirit comes upon the Apostles in the presence of the Mother of God for all the world to receive the incredible sanctifying gifts with which to sanctify it.  Sanctification and possession are the same act: for sanctification is the work of love, and love is possession. The very lowest degree of sanctity demands that the Holy Spirit dwell in our souls, possess them; while supreme sanctity is the supreme possession that the Spirit attains in the soul, the full and perfect possession of love. Archbishop Luis Martinez, author of the book, "The Sanctifier" states that the first relationship that the Holy Spirit has with a soul is that of being the delightful Guest. The entire Blessed Trinity dwells within the soul living the life of grace but Scripture attributes, in a special manner, this indwelling to the Holy Spirit.

"Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?"1Cor. 3:16  Without this dwelling of the Holy Spirit in us we cannot "become Christ". "If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ." Rom 8:9

One of the greatest secrets of Mary that many do not know is that no grace is given by Heaven to man except through the virginal hands of Our Blessed Mother - Spouse of the Holy Spirit. This is something so not understood but if it was - it would help sanctify the world because when we call on Mary - we receive the Holy Spirit who is Her Spouse and She is a tender Mother who refuses no one. This was understood and taught by St. Louis deMontfort, St. Bernard, St. Alphonsus and many others. Whether we know it or not - She is there dispensing graces from the Holy Spirit when God so wills it. 

We find written in the Sanctifer: "St. Louis deMontfort understood so clearly the place that belongs to Mary in the work of sanctification that he made devotion to this sweet Mother, not something superficial or intermittent but constant and essential. His teachings simply brought to Christians the traditional Catholic teaching of our Good Queen and Mother which is to declare Her Mediatrix of all Graces.  (link below) Christian life is the reproduction of Jesus in souls, and Perfection consists in the transformation of souls into Jesus. 

St. Paul says the following:
"Do you not know yourselves that Christ Jesus is in you?" 2Cor 13:5
"For all you who have been baptize into Christ, have put on Christ." Gal 3:27
"....Christ dwelling through faith in your hearts." Eph 3:17
"Those whom He has foreknown He has also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son." Rom 8:29
"It is no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me." Gal. 2:20
"But we all, with faces unveiled, reflecting as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His very image from glory to glory."2Cor 3:18

Archbishop Luis Martinez says: "How will this mystical reproduction be brought about in souls? In the same way in which Jesus was brought into the world, for God gives a wonderful mark of unity to all His works. In His miraculous birth, Jesus was the fruit of Heaven and Earth. The Holy Spirit conveyed the divine fruitfulness of the Father to Mary, and this virginal soil brought forth our Most Loving Savior. "He was conceived by the Holy Ghost.. of the Virgin Mary". That is the way Jesus is always conceived. He is always the fruit of Heaven and Earth. Mary and the Holy Spirit concur in the work that is at once God's masterpiece and humanity's supreme product. They are the ones who can reproduce Christ in a soul.

He continues to say that they sanctify in different ways. The Holy Spirit is the Sanctifier because He is God, Who is infinite sanctity and it belongs to Him to communicate to souls the mystery of that sanctity. The Virgin Mary is the cooperator, the indispensable instrument in and by God's design. From Mary's maternal relation to the human body of Christ is derived her relation to HIS MYSTICAL BODY OF CHRIST which is being formed through all the centuries until the end of time! These two are the indispensable artificers of Jesus , the indispensable sanctifiers of souls.

The Holy Spirit pours charity into our heart, make a habitation of our soul, and directs our spiritual life by means of His gifts. The Virgin Mary has the efficacious influence of Mediatrix in the most profound and delicate operation of grace in our souls. The action of the Holy Spirit and cooperation of the most Holy Virgin Mary are constant; without them, not one single character of Jesus would be traced on our souls, no virtue grow, no gift be developed, no grace increase, no bond of union with God be strengthened in the rich flowering of the spiritual life.  Therefore the Catholic Church teaches that devotion to the Holy Spirit and Our Blessed Mother should be necessary - profound and constant. This is difficult for many Catholics today especially after Vatican II because of the lowering of our standards to help bring in the Protestants which it did not do - it only caused confusion among Catholics and now our Church is very crippled because of it. We are to go to Mary - Our Mother. Her will is perfectly united to God's. She does NOTHING without the sole Will of God. He has appointed Her for this role and if He did not want Her or need Her -- Jesus would not have been born and subject to Her. We in turn must be born of Her and subject to Her in order to be called Christian. She is blessed among all women and of Herself - She is nothing. All graces come from the Holy Spirit - She is merely the Dispenser of these graces. But She is so much more because She is the tender Mother of Jesus and is now the tender Mother of all mankind! She will never refuse those who have recourse to Her! It would be foolish to say we have no need of Her! Jesus CHOSE to need Her! The Almighty Father chose Her to be the Spouse of the Holy Spirit! We need Her also!

Tomorrow is the Feast of Pentecost. A time to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit to face all that we are to face until we die! This is a great time in history but we truly need to be awake and live each day knowing that God is ALWAYS present and at our side and in our hearts!

I have posted two talks below - one homily and one talk but both lead us to a life of true courage and direction for this crazy time we are living in.  So greatly needed.

Also posted is a word document that you can print in order to pray these prayers as Cardinal Burke has asked and is only echoing the words of Our Blessed Mother at Fatima - pray - fast - repent - and offer your daily duty with acts of reparation. Frequent the Sacraments for as long as we can for the sacramental grace so needed!

Happy Friday. We are almost done with May and it went so fast. Today is the Feast of a great Carmelite saint - St. Mary Magdalene dePazzi of the late 1500's in Italy. She passed away to her Spouse, on the twenty-fifth of May, in the year 1607, having completed the forty-first year of her age. Many miracles having been wrought by her merits, both before and after death, she was canonized by Pope Clement XI. Her body is, even to this day, preserved from corruption! Incorrupt saints are a great gift to us because it helps us to seek these chosen souls out and see what it was that God so loved in their lives that He would grant them this. Their works or writings are worth reading and gaining grace from. 

She was a mystic who fell into ecstasy for two hours after her morning Communion. She wrote about these ecstasies and here is one I chose written below for today from the First Volume of her collected works. I felt this was needed. Of course this message is always needed because this sums up why we exist. With all the craziness going on in the Church and in the world AGAINST GOD - especially present in the Holy Eucharist, we must remain focused and cling to God, truly present among us - as long as we are in the state of God's grace. We must truly appreciate receiving Holy Communion once again and unite ourselves to Jesus. truly present, as St. Mary Magdalene dePazzi did. May we pray to Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament and to the great saints who went before us to remain focused on our true reason for existence - which is to love LOVE now and for all eternity - Amen!!

"I saw that LOVE stood continually at the gate of our heart, waiting to enter therein; and in this circumstance there came to my mind those words of Jesus: "I stand at the gate and knock," (Rev. 3:20) But he cannot enter therein as long as the soul is filled with self-love, yet once self-love is removed, then He enters in.

And I understood that the soul that has LOVE within itself and shares in the merits of the blood of Jesus cannot bear to partake of any created thing, but wants only to partake of pure love and of this blood. And (it wants this) in such a way that it cannot (bear to) see God in any modal manner; that is, I mean that it does not tolerate seeing Him powerful or wise, rich or beautiful, or in any other way, but it knows Him only as pure God, God in Himself, loving Himself purely and infinitely, and loving creatures with a pure and infinite love.

And I seemed to see that our interior man, without this LOVE and without this blood, was like a dead body, with all its senses dead; but one who has this blood and this love is like a living man who has all his senses alive and active...

I seemed to understand also that LOVE united a soul with Himself so closely for three reasons:
first -- because the soul was created for LOVE

second -- so that the soul would do that for which it was created, namely, to love LOVE

third -- because the soul is to enjoy that same LOVE eternally and to be united inseparably with Him. And I saw that no creature whatsoever can be capable of this union, wherein all become as one; but only God and that same Unitive LOVE, Who is the Mediator between the soul and God (can be capable of it)."

Today starts the Novena to the Holy Spirit through and with Mary. Below a link to prayers to the Holy Spirit. Please add your invocation to Mary Spouse of the Holy Spirit each day. 

Our Blessed Mother is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit. At the first instant of her conception, He imparted to Her so great a fullness of grace that all the Angels and Saints combined have not attained such a degree of perfection.

Enraptured by Mary's beauty, the Holy Spirit exclaims in admiration: "How beautiful art thou, My Love!" (Cant. 4:1). But it was above all at the Incarnation of the Son of God that Mary became the true Spouse of the Holy Spirit for she conceived the Eternal Word in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Through Mary, with Mary, and in Mary, the Holy Spirit brought forth the God-man, and in like manner He brings forth, every day, to the End of Time, the elect children of God. St. Louis Grignon de Montfort says: "The Holy Spirit imparted to Mary His immeasurable gifts, and has made her the dispenser of all His graces, so that she distributes His gifts and graces to whom she will, as much as she wills, and how and where she wills. No grace is given by Heaven to man except through her virginal hands." St. Bernard and St. Alphonsus and many other theologians hold the same opinion. This puzzles many as they hear this but we must note that Mary's Will is always perfectly in union with that of God. She never does anything without it being in perfect union with God.

Mary was present with the Apostles in the Cenacle, and for nine days had prayed with them and sighed for the coming of the Divine Comforter for the Church. It was due chiefly to Her prayers and ardent desires that the Holy Spirit came down with such treasures of grace.

Through Mary we must seek grace, for She is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit, and all graces are dispensed through her hands. Let us often greet Mary as the Spouse of the Holy Spirit.

Hello Everyone:
Happy Feast Day and it is one! This day brings great hope in a world that looks quite hopeless against the Tech Giants trying to control the world. But the mystery of this feast directs our eyes heavenwards. We are to lift up our hearts to that place where Christ, our Savior, is in full possession of His glory after His labors and sufferings on earth, to that place, where we, having carried out our earthly tasks, will enjoy never-ending happiness, safe for all eternity in our heavenly home! What a hope and joy!

Christ ascended into Heaven in order to prepare a place, a home for us in the house of His Father, in His own fatherland. When we too have finished our earthly tasks, He will take us home to Himself. We are to be with Him, to dwell in the splendor of His glory. He has merely gone before us, and soon we are to follow Him.

Let us today turn our hope and our longing once more to our eternal home in Heaven! “Seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God!” Yet this hopeful longing must find us zealous in laboring and strong in suffering. Only if we do this will we share in the Kingdom of Heaven.......

This wholehearted surrender to Christ is the only spirit which will conquer the world today. It seems Communism is the only philosophy today with this zeal to labor and suffer for their ideals. This is a problem. Burning with zeal for their cause, they are filled with a hatred of Capitalism, with the doctrine of class struggle and the spirit of revolution. It is in our politicians, our university professors, and now in their students willing to vote for a Bernie Sanders (who we still may get if Biden is thrown out – the Democratic Socialist Party has grown in memberships in the last two years by 500%!!). Such zeal can be met with opposing zeal, such courage only with courage, and such sacrifice only with sacrifice. Christians who will not sacrifice themselves for the things of God cannot meet the new challenge. It will take a great faith in Christ to put down faith in the anti-Christ; it will take nothing less than the sacrifice of the Cross to conquer the sacrifice of those who crucify.

God seems to be already sifting the wheat of apostolic souls from the chaff of indifference. Persecutions are on the rise all over the world, even through this plandemic. It looks as though God is preparing the Church for the future battle or future peace by a spiritual purification in which only the strong will walk with Him. What was true in the days of Gideon is true in our own day. Gideon fought against an enemy army far greater in number but God gave the victory only after sifting His people for the truly zealous to fight the fight! Let this be our inspiration to be zealous for Christ and create a hope in us in a world where we feel swallowed up by the enemy. We must remember that our world’s problem now -- and has always been -- a spiritual one. “Seek ye therefore first the Kingdom of God and His Justice, and all these things will be added unto you.”Matt 6:33

The social order we should help build will depend upon how we answer the question: “What is the purpose of living?” If life has no other goal than to return to dust, then we will build an order either of individual selfishness, or a collective selfishness – for if this life is all there is, then why should we not have all? But if life is moral, and the way we live in charity, justice, peace and sacrificing determines our existence in the next world, then what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and to lose his immortal soul?

Bishop Fulton Sheen says this: “ There are two philosophies of life – one Communistic and the other is Christian; one material, the other spiritual. Communists have only one word in their vocabulary and that is the word down – “Down with Capitalism! Down with the Rich! Down with the bourgeoisie! Down with the Wealthy! Down with the Government! Down with the Classes! Down with Religion! Down with God!

Heaven is above! Is there not another word in our vocabulary upon which we can build a true social order? Can one build anything down? Must not everything that is build be built upward? Let there be another order constructed upon the word UP! Up from Class-struggle! Up from Hate! Up from Revolution! Up from the material! Up from the dust! Up beyond the earth, beyond the stars, up to the “hid battlements of eternity” – Up – Up to God!”

Hello Everyone:
Today begins an old Tradition in the Church which is to ask God for protection from calamities through prayer, fasting and processions (which we can do in our homes).  I wish it was more well known and more publicized by our bishops to at least have homes honor these days with fasting and prayer especially this year. We have locusts swarms in parts of Africa and Asia, we will have famine because of it and we have the destruction of much of our food supply because of the shut downs of restaurants and cafeterias, earthquakes and other natural calamities are on the rise and intensifying, we have this pestilence upon us and more tyranny and lost freedoms to come. This is a perfect time to beg God to give us the necessary graces to make it through these trying times with prayer and fasting.

 I am giving three links at the bottom for you  (1) some history and (2) a homily of this Catholic history gone by the wayside and (3) a document to print copies of the prayers to be done at home if you are called to participate -which can be beautifully done in a procession, 

"Rogation days were days which were instituted to appease divine justice, ask for protection, and invoke God's blessing on the harvest. They are divided into the "major" and "minor" rogations, with the latter being the three days before Ascension Thursday -- and hence, this very Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 

The Rogation Days are the 25th of April, called Major, and the three days before the feast of the Ascension, called Minor. The Major Rogation, which has no connection with the feast of St. Mark (fixed for this date much later) seems to be of very early date and to have been introduced to counteract the ancient Robigalia, on which the heathens held processions and supplications to their gods. St. Gregory the Great (d. 604) regulated the already existing custom. The Minor Rogations were introduced by St. Mamertus, Bishop of Vienne, and were afterwards ordered by the Fifth Council of Orléans, which was held in 511, and then approved by Leo III (795-816). First, I would like to thank Our Blessed Mother for her help bringing back our public Masses. It looks like many dioceses throughout are bringing back the Mass but with restrictions. May we thank Our Blessed Mother and Sweet Jesus for allowing us to be back in our churches ----- for now!  I do not believe it will be permanent but temporary. Not sure if it will be another health threat this Fall or a liberty taken from us because of those who WILL refuse the tyranny that is about to come upon ALL OF US. Sounds scary - well it is reality and you will also think so when you view all my links below.

This is a very trying time in history right now for sure. We are all so very perplexed about the insanity we see around us. At first, I was thankful to God we received this plandemic and I still am because it gives us (those with a brain to critically think) to get our house in order. To amp up our prayer life. To inform those loved ones around us that we need to get right with God. Never too late but yes we have strayed far and long from God in this country and in the world. It is for this reason and for the fulfillment of biblical prophesy that we are experiencing all of this. Let us begin....

Do you remember the Amazon Synod in October 2019. Why the Amazon? Why Pachamama? Why the Pope? Well - as we have already heard the words now spoken openly like never before -- we are entering into a New World Order with a New World Religion. Yesterday, May 14th was a day the Pope prayed with the entire world of believers - whatever their belief. And why not have the moral authority, the Pope, sanction this Satanic takeover by offering us an "Opening Ceremony". Yes, why not offer "Mother Earth" our pagan praise and ask "her" to "bless" this effort. I cannot believe I am writing this but yes - dear people - that is where we are -- very sad to say.

Next, you may have heard of a "trial run of this plandemic mess" ALSO in October of 2019 (link below). It was done by the same ring leaders we have before us now running the show. Please view it below - listen and space it out over a week - very long but gives us a play by play of what we are living in now. Coincidental???

It was brought to my attention yesterday that there is a document called - "Iron Mountain Report". I will give a link below to the PDF file and another lengthy video giving a biblical look at its evil contents for OUR FUTURE.  A document that OUR GOVERMENT was involved in since the early 1950's to surrender our sovereignty to the United Nations. Yes - no mistake - you read it! President Trump declared a State of Emergency at the beginning of this mess and therefore FEMA has full right to override our Constitution. We have been under the delusion that this is America with a Constitution. The only thing left is our 2nd Amendment because we STILL OWN guns. This right was given to us not to be able to hunt but to protect ourselves from a treasonous government which we now have (and had for awhile)...............
People - when the guns go - you will know communism is in full swing. By the way, most of the leadership seats in the United Nations are taken by China. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen stated much against communism and also declared that any nation that does not give full freedoms to its people should not be allowed to participate in the United Nations - I guess no one heard him?!?!?!?

Let us pray our Rosaries, prepare our families to be vigilant and pray.

WARNING - if you are really depressed about what you see now - do not read the Iron Mountain Report or watch the video. It takes a person who believes in God's true and strong protections and knows that Our Father is watching over His children in order to stomach this. God is God and He will give us strength to say No to Satan and to die for Jesus Christ! Let us invoke the saints and beg their intercession.

So this will leave you with lots of homework to view these things and remove all doubt and frustrations about our future. Now that I have viewed this document, the rhetoric that is used today is completely understood. It will hopefully bring ALL OF US to our knees and beg God for the strength to endure what lies ahead.  

Hello Everyone -

Tomorrow is the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament. This is an important feast day considering we have had no public Mass for the past few months WORLDWIDE! Some dioceses are lifting the ban but there are many restrictions and it looks like receiving in our dirty hands and putting a host into our mouth will be the protocol. We must fight to receive Our Lord truly present on our tongues and we must write to our bishops to beg for this.

In an age when many doubt the Real Presence in the Blessed Eucharist, we find the Angel who appeared to the three children leaving a Host and Chalice suspended in the air while he prostrates himself and prays the prayer:

            Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore You profoundly!
            I offer You the Most Precious Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our
            Lord Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation
            For the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences committed against Him; and through
            The infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of
            Mary – I beg or the conversion of poor sinners.

Not only does the vision of the angel adoring the Host and Chalice reassure us in our belief in the beautiful doctrine of the Real Presence, but the drops of the Precious Blood falling from the Host into the Chalice confirm what the Church has always taught, that Christ is present, whole and entire, in either species.

Another doctrine of the Faith brought forward at Fatima is the doctrine on hell. How many so-called theologians, in this sad age, have taken it upon themselves to dismiss the doctrine of a hell of eternal fire as “not suitable for the mentality of modern man”? At Fatima, the children were given a terrifying vision of that same hell of fire, proving that the magisterium has not erred. These children of 7, 9 and 10 were told by Our Lady that this is where the souls of poor sinners go because there is no one to pray and make sacrifices for them. Our Lady urged the necessity of compassion for our neighbors when She said this, telling us that we are all in some sense mediators of intercession for souls, many of whom we can save if we pray and do penance for them. Upon hearing and seeing this, the children spent their days making little sacrifices and prayers so that souls would not fall there, leaving us with this heroic example.

The Immaculate Conception of Our Lady was clearly implied in the references to Her Immaculate Heart. Therefore, by inference, the doctrine of Original Sin, so often challenged today, is confirmed. If Our Lady is immaculate, then the rest of us are conceived in sin as the Church has always taught.

The doctrines of Heaven, Hell and Purgatory, of the existence of angels and devils, of the need for prayer and penance to attain salvation are all brought to the notice of the modern world at Fatima, and of course, are confirmed by the great Miracle of the Sun on October 13, 1917. This happens to be the only miracle predicted to happen, day and hour, which actually did happen as predicted. Shouldn’t this make this message significant? Shouldn’t we study what the message is and live it? 

Another threat today is that of a complete totalitarian state not only in our America but in the world. Many rules coming from the UN are being imposed throughout the world under the guise of protection of the public from this "Plandemic".

            “It is possible by means of shrewd and unremitting propaganda to make
            people believe that heaven is hell and hell is heaven.” Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, 1926

Nobody who has seen the spread of atheistic communism throughout the world would doubt this quote today. All the evidence we have of communism indicates that it creates a veritable hell on earth in countries which it controls. So great is the power of the atheist propaganda machine, nevertheless, that it enables world communism/socialism to make continued progress.

Catholics, on the other hand, seem disinterested in propagating the magnificent idealism of their faith, the only antidote to this threat of communism. It is a great responsibility which we will surely have to answer for on the last day. We are hiding this Light under the bushel of our sloth and our apathy, allowing murderers and robbers to take over political control of the world.

The Fatima message is a treasure from Heaven given with great love to the Church by the Mother of the Church in 1917. It is not the property of a single group within the Church. It has been certified by the Church as being in perfect harmony with the Gospel. The movement to crush communism and all its errors must come from the bosom of the Church and it must be led by Our Lady who is appointed by God to crush the power of the demon. The Fatima crusade is to be then a conquering army. Our Lady intended the urgent appeal to be addressed to all Catholics without exception and especially to the priests and religious to help lead the people in this great battle against the enemy.

We must find in our own conscience the strength to be generous, to obey the impulse to do something noble, something worthwhile with this fleeting life. Soon, we will all be standing before our Judge and Lord.

As Our Lady had foretold, error did spread and is still spreading from Soviet Russia. The second world war has taken place. The Church has been persecuted as never before in history, and the good have been martyred in millions - and there are more to be martyred. The final series of the prophecies has still to be fulfilled, namely the suffering of the Holy Father, the annihilation of various nations, the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the conversion of Russia to Christianity and the promised age of peace.
 
The Fatima message is not to be buried. We can still do as Our Lady has asked. We can start with our own consecration and commitment to saying the daily Rosary and wearing the Brown Scapular and getting more to do the same.

Pope Benedict XV in April, 1918, in a letter to the Portuguese Bishops, referred to the occurrences at Fatima as, “an extraordinary aid from the Mother of God.” We have the miracle of the sun, October 13, 1917 and the incorrupt body of Jacinta (maybe Lucia when she is exhumed). Our good God has given us proof that we need to listen to our Mother and do all that we can to obey Her. The power to change this sinful world lies in God’s grace and mercy. May we seek to ask our dear Mother Mary to intercede for us and beg God’s mercy through our prayers and obedience to this Message of Love from a dear Mother for Her wayward children.

May we continue to offer many Spiritual Communions and Rosaries in reparation of the many sins we have seen and continue to see. May we be faithful to the requests made known at Fatima.

May we all give Our Blessed Mother the love and obedience that She deserves. She is the most self-sacrificing mother that ever lives. She cares for each and every soul ever created. She sacrificed her Son Jesus Christ for us and stood at the foot of the cross with Him.  She loves us so much and we must love Her in return - especially with our Rosaries during this very trying time in history. She will crush the head of the serpent and we are all called to help Her with our Rosaries.

Holy Mother Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary - pray for us!!

Hello Everyone:
An heroic plea has been written to world government leaders by our very brave leaders within the Church who have the Light of Jesus Christ in their souls. This is very great news and very beautifully done.  BUT it will only be successful if we ALL back their heroic action with prayer. We must cover this with much prayer. Only a miracle from God will allow this Appeal to reach the hearts of the very cold men at the wheel of this plandemic.

Below is the Appeal put together by heroic men ----Cardinals Robert Sarah, Joseph Zen and Gerhard Müller have joined with Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò in launching this appeal to governmental leaders to respect people’s inalienable rights and fundamental freedoms in light of the current crisis of this plandemic.

Titled “An Appeal for the Church and the World,” the three-page document (see full text below) was released in six languages today, May 7 at 7:30, local-time Rome.

FOR THE CHURCH AND THE WORLD
to Catholics and all people of good will

In this time of great crisis, we Pastors of the Catholic Church, by virtue of our mandate, consider it our sacred duty to make an Appeal to our Brothers in the Episcopate, to the Clergy, to Religious, to the holy People of God and to all men and women of good will. This Appeal has also been undersigned by intellectuals, doctors, lawyers, journalists and professionals who agree with its content, and may be undersigned by those who wish to make it their own.

The facts have shown that, under the pretext of the Covid-19 epidemic, the inalienable rights of citizens have in many cases been violated and their fundamental freedoms, including the exercise of freedom of worship, expression and movement, have been disproportionately and unjustifiably restricted. Public health must not, and cannot, become an alibi for infringing on the rights of millions of people around the world, let alone for depriving the civil authority of its duty to act wisely for the common good. This is particularly true as growing doubts emerge from several quarters about the actual contagiousness, danger and resistance of the virus. Many authoritative voices in the world of science and medicine confirm that the media’s alarmism about Covid-19 appears to be absolutely unjustified.

We have reason to believe, on the basis of official data on the incidence of the epidemic as related to the number of deaths, that there are powers interested in creating panic among the world’s population with the sole aim of permanently imposing unacceptable forms of restriction on freedoms, of controlling people and of tracking their movements. The imposition of these illiberal measures is a disturbing prelude to the realization of a world government beyond all control.

We also believe that in some situations the containment measures that were adopted, including the closure of shops and businesses, have precipitated a crisis that has brought down entire sectors of the economy. This encourages interference by foreign powers and has serious social and political repercussions. Those with governmental responsibility must stop these forms of social engineering, by taking measures to protect their citizens whom they represent, and in whose interests they have a serious obligation to act. Likewise, let them help the family, the cell of society, by not unreasonably penalizing the weak and elderly, forcing them into a painful separation from their loved ones. The criminalization of personal and social relationships must likewise be judged as an unacceptable part of the plan of those who advocate isolating individuals in order to better manipulate and control them.

We ask the scientific community to be vigilant, so that cures for Covid-19 are offered in honesty for the common good. Every effort must be made to ensure that shady business interests do not influence the choices made by government leaders and international bodies. It is unreasonable to penalize those remedies that have proved to be effective, and are often inexpensive, just because one wishes to give priority to treatments or vaccines that are not as good, but which guarantee pharmaceutical companies far greater profits, and exacerbate public health expenditures. Let us also remember, as Pastors, that for Catholics it is morally unacceptable to develop or use vaccines derived from material from aborted fetuses.

We also ask government leaders to ensure that forms of control over people, whether through tracking systems or any other form of location-finding, are rigorously avoided. The fight against Covid-19, however serious, must not be the pretext for supporting the hidden intentions of supranational bodies that have very strong commercial and political interests in this plan. In particular, citizens must be given the opportunity to refuse these restrictions on personal freedom, without any penalty whatsoever being imposed on those who do not wish to use vaccines, contact tracking or any other similar tool. Let us also consider the blatant contradiction of those who pursue policies of drastic population control and at the same time present themselves as the savior of humanity, without any political or social legitimacy. Finally, the political responsibility of those who represent the people can in no way be left to “experts” who can indeed claim a kind of immunity from prosecution, which is disturbing to say the least.

We strongly urge those in the media to commit themselves to providing accurate information and not penalizing dissent by resorting to forms of censorship, as is happening widely on social media, in the press and on television. Providing accurate information requires that room be given to voices that are not aligned with a single way of thinking. This allows citizens to consciously assess the facts, without being heavily influenced by partisan interventions. A democratic and honest debate is the best antidote to the risk of imposing subtle forms of dictatorship, presumably worse than those our society has seen rise and fall in the recent past.

Finally, as Pastors responsible for the flock of Christ, let us remember that the Church firmly asserts her autonomy to govern, worship, and teach. This autonomy and freedom are an innate right that Our Lord Jesus Christ has given her for the pursuit of her proper ends. For this reason, as Pastors we firmly assert the right to decide autonomously on the celebration of Mass and the Sacraments, just as we claim absolute autonomy in matters falling within our immediate jurisdiction, such as liturgical norms and ways of administering Communion and the Sacraments. The State has no right to interfere, for any reason whatsoever, in the sovereignty of the Church. Ecclesiastical authorities have never refused to collaborate with the State, but such collaboration does not authorize civil authorities to impose any sort of ban or restriction on public worship or the exercise of priestly ministry. The rights of God and of the faithful are the supreme law of the Church, which she neither intends to, nor can, abdicate. We ask that restrictions on the celebration of public ceremonies be removed.

We should like to invite all people of good will not to shirk their duty to cooperate for the common good, each according to his or her own state and possibilities and in a spirit of fraternal charity. The Church desires such cooperation, but this cannot disregard either a respect for natural law or a guarantee of individual freedoms. The civil duties to which citizens are bound imply the State’s recognition of their rights.
We are all called to assess the current situation in a way consistent with the teaching of the Gospel. This means taking a stand: either with Christ or against Christ. Let us not be intimidated or frightened by those who would have us believe that we are a minority: Good is much more widespread and powerful than the world would have us believe. We are fighting against an invisible enemy that seeks to divide citizens, to separate children from their parents, grandchildren from their grandparents, the faithful from their pastors, students from teachers, and customers from vendors. Let us not allow centuries of Christian civilization to be erased under the pretext of a virus, and an odious technological tyranny to be established, in which nameless and faceless people can decide the fate of the world by confining us to a virtual reality. If this is the plan to which the powers of this earth intend to make us yield, know that Jesus Christ, King and Lord of History, has promised that “the gates of Hell shall not prevail” (Mt 16:18).

Let us entrust government leaders and all those who rule over the fate of nations to Almighty God, that He may enlighten and guide them in this time of great crisis. May they remember that, just as the Lord will judge us Pastors for the flock which he has entrusted to us, so will He also judge government leaders for the peoples whom they have the duty to defend and govern.

With faith, let us beseech the Lord to protect the Church and the world. May the Blessed Virgin, Help of Christians, crush the head of the ancient Serpent and defeat the plans of the children of darkness.
