Greetings in Jesus and Mary! Blessed Feast Day of the Epiphany! (and First Saturday) May we give our all this year to Jesus so that He can fill us with the necessary graces to make it through a very likely tough year. The gifts of the Magi were so significant for the King of Kings Who came down from Heaven to die for all of us on the cross in order to open the gates of Heaven!. Epiphany is a time to reflect on Jesus Christ and His Divinity. The Magi’s visit reveals this to us with their symbolic gifts they brought to the infant Jesus: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. These gifts are believed to represent Jesus’ kingship, divinity, and death. Gold which is the most fitting thing for a Royal King, Frankincense and Myrrh were used in the embalming process as a means of perfuming and anointing. It must have been hard for Mary and Joseph to accept these without having a heavy heart for Jesus' coming suffering and death. I searched YouTube to find the song "What Can I Give Him". When my children were small, we would sing this. The below video is the best video I could find that shows a large holy family teaching their little ones to love Jesus. This is so uplifting to watch in a world that is growing colder by the day! The love of God is a pale light in the world right now because so many do not want Him,..... or love Him. I hope you enjoy it and give Him your heart in a bigger way this year. Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament, pray for us! Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
