Hello Everyone: Sorry I have been so busy that I have not put that much on this website lately. We are inching closer to May and this will be the first May that I get to write for Our Lady! This is exciting! Mary is the best kept secret in the Catholic Church! Why do I say this? Mary is the surest road to God and to Heaven - the quickest way to Jesus! Today is the Feast of St. Louis deMontfort! We love you, St. Louis deMontfort, and thank God for you!! The saints tell us that a devotion to Mary is a sign of predestination. We do not believe in predestination so what does this mean? This means that even if you give Our Lady a minute of your time each day (and I hope more than that) - She will PRAY FOR YOU! Wow - the Mother of God --- wants to pray for ME! Yes, and She will be at our side at the hour of our death when Satan tries to snatch our soul from God in the most fierce way!! When we seek her help --SHE WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN - plain and simple. Why and how does She have this "power". She has no power - the power is from God - Only God can judge a soul BUT since Mary has said YES and has given HER ALL - God does not refuse Our Queen and Mother. She softens His Judgement against us. Bishop Sheen used the little story of how Peter is opening the gates of Heaven to those who are Judged to enter Heaven and somehow souls sneak in. God asked Peter - how is this happening. Peter answers, "It seems that when I close the door - Your Mother seems to let them in through the window." Of course, Our Lady never goes against the Will of God. Her Will is in perfect harmony with God - always was! She is able to pray for us and plead our cause before the throne of God. She works on us during our life to prepare our souls - to wake us up - to alarm us when danger is near. She is always attentive and always at work for us. Don't you want Her at work with your soul. Do you not know that the devil never sleeps and wants your soul and mine! WE ARE IN A DAILY BATTLE! Why are the majority of priests not teaching this? Why are the priests who consecrate their priesthood, parish or orders not even mentioning her. No, I do not mean once or twice a year ---- I mean DAILY. What would it take to add one sentence at the end of each homily with an invocation or even a Hail Mary in her honor? I have only known two priests who would do this and they would never speak without finishing a thought or even beginning in her honor. "Mary, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us!" This would be a beautiful way to end each homily and the people would probably only remember this as they walked away. (sorry to say - our brains just do not retain each homily but they do remember short invocations!) It may even instill a habit among their parishioners to hear this constantly and hopefully the parishioners will also invoke her name! According to St. Bernard, "When you want to offer anything to God, take care to offer it by the most agreeable and worthy hands of Mary, unless you wish to have it rejected." Whatever our work is, its value is marvelously increased by having been done in union with Mary. By doing all through Mary, one entirely abandons his own will and feels assured that one's actions, prayers and sacrifices must be pleasing and acceptable to God, since being at the disposal of Mary, they are sure to be disposed to His greatest honor and glory. Thus one enters into the sublimity of her intentions which are so pure that She gives more glory to God by the least of her actions than St. Lawrence by his cruel martyrdom on his gridiron or even all the saints with all their heroic actions put together. A humility is acquired with this practice that submits to Mary and trusts that Mary will offer all to God for them - in their place. Therefore, we glorify God in a higher degree - is this not what we want? To conclude - We will quote St. Louis deMontfort who spoke of the "Secret of Mary". He says: "As there are secrets of nature, to do in a short time, at little cost, and with facility, natural operations; so also, in like manner, there are secrets in the order of grace, to do in a short time, with sweetness and facility, supernatural operations, such as emptying ourselves of self, filling ourselves with God, and becoming perfect. As the essence of this devotions belongs to the interior, which it ought to form, it will not be equally comprehended by everybody. Some will enter into its inward spirit; but they will only mount one step. Who will mount to the second step? Who will get as far as the third? Lastly, who will advance so as to make this devotion his habitual state? He alone to whom the spirit of Jesus shall have revealed the secret, the faultlessly faithful soul He shall conduct from grace to grace, from light to light, until he arrives at the transformation of himself into Jesus Christ, and to the plenitude of grace on earth and of glory in Heaven". .... "If I knew that my guilty blood could serve in engraving upon any one's heart the truths which I am writing in honor of my true Mother and sovereign Mistress, I would use my blood instead of ink to form the letters." Mary, Mother of us all - lead us to Your Son and give us the graces to be His saints on earth so as to glorify Him here and in Heaven for all eternity. We love you- Queen and Mother - pray for us! St. Louis deMontfort - pray for us!
